This summer’s fashion trend: PICKNWEIGHT.
Sustainability never looked so goddamned fly, or at least it will when PICKNWEIGHT opens in Covent Garden. The vintage clothes shop, which is already a smash-hit in uber-cool Berlin, has snagged a spot on Neal Street, from which you’ll be able to grab unique looks by the kilo.
If you’re not familiar with the concept of a ‘pick and weigh’ store, it really is quite self-explanatory. Rather than buying clothes individually, you take a whole heap of them up to the counter, weigh, pay, and walk off with a whole new wardrobe. Fighting back against the tide of fast fashion, shopping for vintage clothes is not only more sustainable, it also offers a greater chance of finding something wholly unique.
PICKNWEIGHT are promising “rare pieces from all over the world”, along with an in-depth knowledge of where the items have come from, meaning each piece has a story to tell. (They’ve also got a very aesthetic Instagram feed, which doesn’t hurt the appeal.)
All of which is really good, but having just finished Stranger Things, I’m more excited to use it as an excuse to copy Eleven’s entire season three look. Who are we kidding, those shirts were bitchin’…
Find it at 14-18 Neal Street, WC2H 9LY from October 5th.
