If you’ve ever tried to find something remotely fun to do around Waterloo, you’ll know that it’s no easy feat.
But in the last couple of months, Adventure Bar have treated us to some banging new additions to the map. First they brought us Tonight Josephine, London’s most Instagrammable cocktail bar, and now they’re taking Instagrammers to brand new heights with a spanking new rooftop bar, themed around a paradise island.
While Tonight Josephine is super pink and girly, Bar Elba is based around Josephine’s ex-husband Napoleon and his legendary party habits. Napoleon was so close to achieving his goal of European domination, but he totally f*cked it and got himself exiled to the Mediterranean island of Elba. Mind you, it wasn’t all bad. He dragged 600 pals along with him (he was a popular guy), and turned it into one giant party.
Bar Elba is London’s answer to this blissful party island. Embark on a colourful ascension into paradise, admire the arty witticism along the way, and grab yourself a cocktail. Or 3. Or 6. (We have a naughty deal if you buy in 3s). We recommend the Midnight Flower, a mix of gin, pineapple juice, fresh lemon juice, lavender syrup and salt.
And the fun doesn’t stop there, oh no! Bar Elba have teamed up with burger legends Dip & Flip to bring you the most amazing, food-coma inducing burger you ever did eat. Think beef, cheese, pickles, and a beautifully soft bun, all ready to dip into deliciously meaty gravy. It’s a revolutionary combo of flavours.
To top it all off, we’re also treating our lovely Secret London readers to a deal that they absolutely cannot refuse. 3 cocktails for £16 or 6 cocktails for £30? It doesn’t get much cheaper than that in this ole city – especially if you typically like to enjoy what you’re putting into your mouth. Just head over to Fever to download the voucher and flash it to the bar staff when you arrive. Simple.
You’ll find Bar Elba above Mercury House at 109-117 Waterloo Road, SE1 8UL (right beside Wahaca). Reserve a spot here.
